Conrad Fire continues to grow, threatening homes near Selah
SELAH, Wash. — State resources have been called in to help firefighters in Yakima County battle the Conrad Fire.
The fire is burning heavy brush and timber near Selah and is threatening homes, crops, infrastructure, and power lines.
It sparked around 2:25 p.m. on July 1.
As of Monday morning it burned 4,000 acres.
The Fire Protection Bureau has ordered five strike teams of wildland engines and two interface task forces.
Officials lifted the evacuation orders that were put in place. The Naches Middle School has been set up as an emergency shelter.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
