Contested speaker Brad Henning withdraws from KSD event
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick School District announced Thursday afternoon presenter Brad Henning had withdrawn from speaking at a Saturday, April 15 snow make-up day.
About a hundred people showed up to the school district board meeting Wednesday night voicing support and protest of Henning for his talks about healthy teen relationships.
In a news release, KSD said Henning informed officials, “He was respectfully withdrawing as a presenter due to recent concerns expressed by the public and his desire to preserve an atmosphere of civility in the community.”
KSD added high school principals will work with district administration to plan additional activities for seniors on April 15.
