Coroner identifies murder victim as 52-year-old Yakima man
YAKIMA, Wash — A man who was shot and killed in Thursday morning has been identified as 52-year-old Michael Frazier of Yakima.
The victim was found with multiple gunshots to the chest around 2 a.m. in the 700 block of West Chestnut Avenue.
He was transported to Astria Regional Medical Center where he bled out. He was pronounced dead at 2:52 a.m., said Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins.
Detectives said he was walking in the area when a vehicle pulled up and one of the occupants fired at him. They said the shooter likely exited the vehicle before firing at him.
Hawkins does not appear to have any gang ties, investigators said.
Authorities said the suspect fled in a red SUV. They are actively looking for the shooter. Anyone with information is asked to call 509-575-6200.
