Cowiche Canyon Road fire investigated as arson
YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. — Officials are investigating an arson on Cowiche Canyon Road.
The fire started Wednesday and burned 40 acres, destroying an old shop.
Firefighters said four witnesses reported seeing someone through a lit firework out of the window of a moving car.
Officials were able to confirm it after finding the discharges of a ground bloom flower where the fire started.
Now, they are trying to find out who that person is and are asking anyone with information to call them at 509-575-6060.
They also want to remind you that the use and sale of fireworks is prohibited in Yakima County.
