DENVER, Colo. — Seattle Seahawks star DK Metcalf is a monster on the football field, but he’s no one-trick pony. An extraordinary athlete, Metcalf is an excellent track-and-field competitor whose combination of speed and size is like no other. Next up, he’ll try his hand at softball by participating in the 2021 MLB All-Star Celebrity softball game.

This year’s MLB All-Star Weekend will be held at Coors Field; the home of the Colorado Rockies. DK Metcalf will represent the Seahawks as the only NFL player participating in the event. The list of participants includes a variety of former and current professional athletes, musicians, social media personalities, actors and others.

Per Jessica Kleinschmidt of NBC Sports Bay Area, the list of participants includes Migos rapper Quavo, YouTube sensation JoJo Siwa, country music star Kane Brown, retired New York Yankees star CC Sabathia, television host Karamo, actor Ross Butler and more. Here are the other participants in this year’s event: Steve Aoki, Noah Beck, Charles Melton, Residente, Blake Gray, The Miz, J.I.D, Derrick White, Jennie Finch, Hunter Pence, Larry Walker and Vinny Castilla.

This wouldn’t be the first time that Metcalf is participating in a professional-level event in sports other than football. Early this May, Metcalf competed in a 100m dash against pro-track-and-field athletes and while he finished last, he proved himself worthy of the arena. He clocked in at 10.37 seconds in his 100m race at the USATF Golden Games.

Coming off of a breakout campaign in his sophomore season, DK Metcalf was one of the most dominant receivers in football last year. He finished the season seventh in total receiving yards and tied with his teammate, Tyler Lockett for eighth in total receiving touchdowns with 10.

While he’s dipping his toes into other endeavors during the long NFL offseason, his ultimate focus is on becoming the best football player he can be. To watch the Seahawks star compete in the 2021 MLB All-Star Celebrity softball game, tune in to the event on July 11 at Coors Field.
