Domestic Violence Services seeks air mattress donations
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Domestic Violence Services of Benton and Franklin Counties is asking the public to donate air mattresses as their clients start over in their new places.
Tasha Richardson, a domestic violence service advocate, said a recent bed bug problem is preventing the resource center from accepting real mattresses or box springs.
Richardson said basic toiletries are also needed.
“Sometimes it means everything,” she said. “If you were starting over with nothing and you have a bag full of dirty clothes, what are you going to send your kids to school in? Dirty clothes? If somebody can donate just a bottle of detergent it could mean the difference between getting a job they’re applying for,” she said.
If you would like to donate, you can drop items off at the resource center’s administrative building at 3311 Clearwater Avenue in Kennewick.
