A Kennewick man was taken into custody for domestic violence on Sunday, after allegedly making threats with a firearm.

Officers responded to the 200 block of E 36th Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. for a report of a suicidal subject. Upon their arrival, officers determined a felony assault had occurred.

Kennewick police tell us the victim was not injured, but had been threatened with a gun. Because there was a gun involved, police called the suspect from the outside, and say he was then cooperative.

Police obtained a search warrant, and 60 year-old Neil Doherty was taken into custody and booked into the Benton County Jail for domestic violence assault in the second degree.
