A man driving under the influence in Kennewick ran into a fence, trees, and a power box — causing a power outage — before taking off from deputies on Wednesday night.

According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, just before midnight 24-year-old Andrew Jackson was driving a pickup near Reata and Vaca streets.

That’s where he allegedly drove through the fence and trees before deputies spotted him on Sagebrush near Cottonwood.

Jackson took off, with fluids were leaking out of his engine.

Once police stopped him, he was arrested for DUI, hit-and-run, fail to obey and a warrant.

Apparently a fence post had impaled his pickup and struck his radiator, causing the fluid to leak.

Power has since been restored to the area by Benton PUD.

Jackson also allegedly tried to escape deputies at the hospital.
