Dumpster truck fire in Kennewick causes road closure

Kennewick police and firefighters were on the scene of a dumpster truck fire outside a Waste Management facility on Tuesday morning.

The dumpster truck lit on fire near South Ely Street at West 27th Avenue around 9 a.m., and police are currently blocking the road from 27th to 24th as firefighters continue to work.

KAPP-KVEW is working to learn the cause of the fire.

There were no reported injuries.

Police are asking that community members avoid the area as they continue to clear the scene.
