UPDATE: Eastbound lanes back open at Snoqualmie Pass
UPDATE (1:00 p.m.) — All lanes are back open.
SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — The Washington State Department of Transportation has closed eastbound lanes at Snoqualmie Pass due to multiple vehicle spin-outs.
The closure starts at North Bend near milepost 34. WSDOT is working to clear the vehicles blocking the road. They expect to open it back up by noon.
Snoqualmie Pass has seen quite a bit of road closures in the past 24 hours. Heavy snow pounded the area last night. Much of the weekend required drivers to have chains on their vehicles to get through the pass.
The snow isn’t going to let up. According to the National Weather Service, a Winter Storm Warning is in effect until Monday morning.
“Total daytime snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible,” the National Weather Service reports.
Snow is also likely throughout the rest of the week.
