El Fat Cat Grill will be back open on Friday

KENNEWICK, Wash. — El Fat Cat Grill in Kennewick will be back open Friday, Sept. 20 with a brand new look!

In the past decade, El Fat Cat has become one of the popular food trucks and Mexican eateries in the Tri-Cities. The business has been closed for several weeks to get a total makeover.

The owners have replaced the old, black food truck with a permanent, bright red building featuring new outdoor tables and artwork from several local artists.

The menu is the same, and the eatery is still outdoor seating only. With the thicker walls and better insulation, however, the owners say El Fat Cat will no longer have to close because of intermittent weather as it has in the past.

Co-owner Felix Sanchez told KAPP-KVEW the makeover cost upward of $20,000.

The business is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s still in the same location at 539 N. Edison St. behind Albertson’s.
