Finley man allegedly threatens roommate with shotgun, prompting standoff

Deputies said a Finley man was intoxicated when he threatened someone with a shotgun Saturday evening.

Daniel James, 44, arrived at his home in the 21000 block of Finley Road and allegedly started arguing with his housemates. He became upset, walked out the living room and came back a short while later with a shotgun.

James allegedly pointed it at one of his housemates, who grabbed it from him.

Benton County sheriff’s deputies showed up around 6:30 p.m. and surrounded the place. With the help of Kennewick police and Tri-City Regional SWAT, they summoned James from his home over an hour later.

He’s facing charges of second-degree assault domestic violence.
