Fire breaks out at Richland home, cause under investigation
RICHLAND, Wash. – Fire crews are investigating what started an early mornign house fore in the 100 block of High Meadows Drive.
Fire officials said the fire broke out around 6:00 a.m. and it started outside on the backside of the home. When they arrived on scene they found the attic fully engulfed in flames.
Neighbors witnessed flames shooting into the sky and one neighbor even feared for her own family and home as she saw flames getting closer to a tree that separates the two homes.
Fire crews were able to contain the fire and stop it from spreading to other homes, but they remained on scene for a few hours putting out hot spots in the attic.
At the time of the fire there were 4 adults and a baby inside the home, all made it out uninjured.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
