First Alert Weather Get Prepared For The 2022 Heat Wave Hitting This Week Jason

Hope you are staying cool at home!

Very hot temperatures are on the way this week!  An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued from the National Weather Service for the Tri-Cities, Yakima, Ellensburg, Hermiston cities and surrounding areas.  It will be in effect from 11am Monday through 11pm Friday.  We expect temperatures between 100 and 115 degrees during that time.  Very hot and dangerous heat for the work week.

Another notification is an Excessive Heat Watch, with temperatures expected to be up to 110 degrees.  Walla Walla and Pendleton are included in this advisory.

We start with triple digits for your Monday for almost all of our cities.  Ellensburg, just a bit cooler, at 99 degrees.  The hottest days of the week look to be Thursday and Friday with temperatures between 105 to 112.

Take all precautions to take care of yourself and others.  Stay hydrated, stay indoors as much as possible, and maybe cook during the cooler hours of the day.

Chief Meteorologist Briana Bermensolo will have the latest outlook for your week on Good Morning Northwest tomorrow morning between 5am and 7am.

Stay safe and have a great week!
