First cruise ship of the season makes its stop in Richland

Spring is here and the cruise ships are rolling up the Columbia River.

American Song docked at Howard Amon Park in Richland on Friday on its first leg of the 2019 cruise season.

The ship set on its inaugural cruise from New Orleans in October 2018 before making its way to the West Coast. It’s the first modern riverboat in U.S. history, and it is designed with three times more glass than any other riverboat.

American Song is one of three American Cruise Line ships that stop in Tri-Cities on their way up and down the Columbia and Snake Rivers. Queen of the West and American Pride, both paddlewheel riverboats, will also stop in Richland.
