RISES REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1000 AM PST FRIDAY FOR SOUTHERN
MORROW…UMATILLA…NORTHWESTERN WALLOWA…WESTERN UNION…EASTERN
WALLA WALLA AND COLUMBIA COUNTIES…
Numerous small creeks and streams are running bankfull and
additional rain is expect through Friday morning. This will likely
cause local areas of flooding along the streams and creeks.
Creeks and streams that will continue to run high and fast include
Coppei and Mill Creek as well as the upper Touchet and North Fork
Touchet River in southeast Washington. Across northeast Oregon,
they include McKay Creek, Meacham Creek, Spring Creek and numerous
other creeks and streams.
Rainfall is expected to decrease by early Friday with the streams
and creeks peaking by late Friday and receding through the weekend.
If you live along streams and creeks, be alert to rapid rising water
levels. Take action now to move property that could be damaged.
Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
