Flood warnings issued in Yakima County

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. — The National Weather Service issued flood warnings for portions of the Naches and Yakima Rivers on Friday.

The Naches River is expected to crest Friday afternoon while the Yakima River is not expected to crest until Saturday morning.

The NWS has released a list of affected areas:

Naches River near Cliffdell

  • Flood stage is 31 feet
  • At 9 a.m. Friday, stage was at 31.3 feet
  • Minor flooding occurring

Naches River near Naches

  • Flood stage is 17.8 feet
  • At 8:45 a.m. Friday, state was at 18.4 feet
  • Minor flooding occurring

Yakima River near Parker

  • Flood stage is 10 feet
  • At 9 a.m. Friday, stage was at 8.2 feet
  • Minor flooding expected

Yakima Valley Emergency Management released photos of flooding along the Naches River along S.R. 410 just downstream from Pinecliff.
