Franklin County to buy new voter tabulation system
Franklin county commissioners gave the green light for the County Auditor to negotiate a contract for a new voter tabulation system. County Auditor Matt Beaton says the current ten year old system is in constant need of repairs and replacing the tabulation system with new scanning technology will actually save the county money.
“The new system will speed up the tabulation process, help better serve the disabled voter, and reduce the number of ballots that need to be hand duplicated,”said Beaton. The cost of the new system is not expected to exceed $175,000.
