Free yoga, Health and Wellness fair in Kennewick on Saturday

KENNEWICK, Wash — Two local businesses are teaming up to host the annual Spring Health and Wellness Fair at Hansen Park in Kennewick on Saturday.

Northwest Paddleboarding and Pura Vida Barre and Yoga Studio are putting the event on. The free, one-hour long yoga session will start at 9:30 a.m.  All experience levels are welcomed. The fair will start at 10:30 a.m. and go until 2:30 p.m.

Nearly 30 vendors focusing on health and wellness will attend the fair, giving residents a chance to support local businesses.

Krista Patterson with Northwest Paddleboarding said this is also an opportunity to get outside, something that is more important to do than ever before.

“I feel like a lot of people have realized how important it is to get outdoors and get off screens over the past year,” Patterson said. “Taking care of yourself, getting outside, exercising, and soaking up that Vitamin D.”

Patterson said that she’s “missed” seeing the community.

“I’m really excited to see everybody again,” Patterson said. “Especially being able to get together, exercise, have fun and enjoy the sun.”

Sonja Hansen, the owner of Pura Vida Barre and Yoga, said the event will help spread health and safety awareness to the public.

“Some vendors just are out there to give information for people and create more awareness as to how these different things in the health and wellness industry can help people to feel better physically, mentally, and emotionally,” Hansen said.

The yoga session is just one of several held throughout the summer.
