Grandview High School teacher faces multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor
YAKIMA, WA — Zachary Sybouts, 26, made his first court appearance this afternoon on pending sexual allegations. Sybouts was arrested yesterday for allegedly communicating with at least three different students. Court documents state Sybouts had contacted two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old via text — propositioning them for sex, asking for nude pictures, and even sending pictures of his genitals.
Grandview police say they began their investigation last month after the school district notified them of a possible inappropriate relationship between a student and teacher — all three students came forward. Sybouts faces multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, Yakima County Superior Court Judge Richard Bartheld set his bail at $25,000.
“The court is concerned that because of the nature of the charges and some of the exchanges between the defendant and the victims in this case, I do find the results of evidence of potential intimidation of those individuals,” said Bartheld.
We reached out to the Grandview School District and Grandview Police Department for a comment, however both declined an interview.
