OTHELLO, Wash. — Three suspects accused of various crimes related to theft and assault have been brought to the Grant County Jail after local law enforcement used a daring pit maneuver to force them off the road.

According to PIO Kyle Foreman of the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were informed of the crimes at 12:45 p.m. on June 2, 2022. Three suspects were accused of rummaging through a bus used to transport farm workers and stealing backpacks.

When confronted by some of their victims, one of the suspects allegedly fired a gunshot. They fled from the scene in a vehicle that was identified by one of the witnesses later on.

Shortly after, the vehicle was spotted and a pursuit was launched by Royal City police officers, Washington State troopers, and GCSO deputies. They chased after the suspects’ vehicle until they reached the intersection of WA-26 & S O’Brian Rd in Grant County.

The pursuing law enforcement agents coordinated a pit maneuver which forced the vehicle off the roadway. After it came to a stop and was approached by officers, three suspects exited the vehicle and gave themselves in. They have since been transported to the Grant County Jail for an investigative hold.
