Groundbreaking for Yakima Convention Center Expansion happening Thursday
YAKIMA, Wash. — A groundbreaking ceremony will be held for the Yakima Convention Center expansion on Thursday.
The city of Yakima approved building an 18,500 square foot addition to the convention center that will double the exhibit hall space and allow for hosting more events at one time. Construction is will cost between $10 million and $12.5 million and completion is expected in 2021.
The event will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Inside North Lobby at 10 North 8th Street.
