Hanford Reach Center looking for additonal revenue
The Hanford Reach Interpretive Center is facing new financial woes. The Richland Public Facilities District discovered they are $100,000 short of meeting it’s proposed 2017 budget.
Public Facilities District President Dan Boyd says they are exploring every possible option to come up with the money plus an additional $30,000 to provide a cushion.
“There are some programs that counted on generous donation that can’t be cut,” said Boyd.
The PFD is reaching out to the Richland city council for advice Monday night.
It was just three years ago a 25-page independent review concluded officials underestimated construction costs and may have been overly optimistic about in-coming revenues.
