Hanford worker who died on the job identified
HANFORD, Wash. — A Hanford worker who died on the job Wednesday has been identified as 49-year-old Teresa Weathers, according to Benton County Coroner Bill Leach.
A coworker found Weathers unresponsive on the ground at the plutonium finishing plant in the 200 West Area of the Hanford Site. Weathers’ coworkers attempted to resuscitate her with CPR but were not successful. She was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m, Benton County deputies said.
Deputies said there were no obvious signs of foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
Weathers was an employee of CH2M, the main contractor for Hanford’s cleanup efforts.
Grief counseling support services are being offered to employees.
