UMATILLA COUNTY, Ore. – One person was rescued after a semi-truck was blown on to its side by blustery wind on Sunday.

That’s according to East Umatilla Fire and Rescue personnel, who say just before noon on Sunday they got a call about the incident on southbound Highway 11, just south of Blue Mountain Station Road.

They say heavy wind caused the semi to be pushed over to its side and off the road into a field, pinning the driver in the vehicle.

Emergency crews were able to extricate the driver who was sent to a local hospital.
