Hope Solo trial on domestic violence charges set for Jan. 6

Judge renews order for deposition in Hope Solo assault case

A judge sets a January 6th trial date for Richland native and Seattle Reign goalkeeper Hope Solo.

She was charged in June with two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault for allegedly hitting her half-sister and nephew.

During today’s brief court hearing, Solo’s attorney successfully argued to have the alleged victims interview with a court stenographer present, something Solo’s half-sister and nephew had previously refused to do.

Solo pleaded guilty to the gross-misdemeanor charges and was released from custody on personal recognizance.

Her attorney said at the time of the arrest that Solo was the victim.
