Immediate evacuations ordered for people living near Highway 195 fire

SPOKANE, Wash. —  Level 3 evacuations – meaning leave now – are in place for people living near a wildfire burning on Highway 195 at Excelsior.


The evacuations are impacting people living west of Highway 195; the evacuation zone impacts people with Austin Rd, 195, Excelsior and Mullen Hill.

Level 3 evacuations have been lifted for people living on the east side of Highway 195.

Level 2 evacuations – meaning get set to leave – are in place for people living within a quarter mile of the highway and Excelsior to the south. If you, anyone at your location or pets and livestock need extra time, you should evacuate now.

Road Closures:

Highway 195 is fully blocked in the area. Hatch Rd and White Road are also closed.

People needing to get through the area should take Cedar.

It is not clear how the fire started, but it is burning grass and trees.

Fire crews from multiple agencies are on the scene and asking the public to avoid the area.
