Poke and toke: Washington offering free joints as new vaccine incentive
OLYMPIA, Wash. — The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board announced Monday it will offer free marijuana joints as an incentive for people to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to a notice, the LCB received multiple requests from marijuana retailers to offer the promotion.
Starting Monday, marijuana retailers who host COVID-19 vaccination clinics at their stores will be allowed to offer one joint at no cost to customers.
Retailers can reach out to the LCB if they want to host the promotion. The optional allowance will be effective through July 12.
This is the latest incentive the state is offering in an effort to get Washingtonians vaccinated. Last week, the state announced multiple prizes, including a $1 million cash offer.
