KELLOGG, Idaho — Thanks to some late spring snow, Silver Mountain is opening for three extra days on Memorial Day weekend!

The resort originally closed for the season on April 24. However, with some cool temperatures and cloud coverage, winter sports enthusiasts have one more weekend to enjoy the pow before the mountain closes for the season again.

Specifically, the Chair 2 basin will open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Only 8 of the 443 skiing areas in the United States are planning on being open for Memorial Day weekend, including Silver Mountain.

Tickets for non-season pass holders will be available for $49 for adults and $43 for children. Guests can purchase them at the Gondola Village at the resort.

“We’re excited to offer skiers and riders three more days to get on the snow before summer. We’re kicking off the summer season on snow. That’s pretty unique. It’s going to be a memorable weekend,” said Silver Mountain Marketing Coordinator Gus Colburn.
