PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University has named a new acting police chief for their Pullman campus.

WSU Police Seargeant Dawn Daniels will be the new chief of police for the department. Daniels has been in the role since July 15 and will be leading day-to-day operations.

Daniels’ appointment comes as the university is investigating misconduct allegations within the WSU Police Department.

Executive Director for Finance and Administration Victoria Murray will be the acting associate vice president for public safety. Also being in the role since July 15, Murray will provide overall management of safety functions on the campus.

University policy says that personnel investigations are confidential.
