Idaho church delivers trailer of donations to homeless in Toppenish
TOPPENISH, Wash. – Camp Hope partnered with an eastern Idaho church to deliver a trailer of donations to homeless in Toppenish Friday morning.
The Latter-day Saints Church drove over a 20-foot trailer filled with blankets, coats, sleeping bags, emergency generators and other winter items. They also served a hot lunch to the homeless following the donation delivery.
Camp Hope coordinated the event and works with many organizations to provide meals and shelter for nearly 100 people each day including men, women and families with children. In turn, residents give back to their community by volunteering.
With the help of community donors, Camp Hope has fed over 700 meals in the past five weeks. They partner with the Union Gospel Mission – Yakima, Holy Family Catholic Church and several others to provide weekly meals.
