Judge Drops Charges Against Hope Solo

All of the domestic violence charges against soccer star Hope Solo have been dropped by a King County judge, according to KOMO News.

The charges stemmed from an altercation at a family party in June 2014. Solo was charged with two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree domestic violence assault. One for altercations with a nephew, the other with her sister.

Her attorney asked for the charges to be dismissed, saying witnesses had been uncooperative. The judge noted some of the witness testimony is inconsistent. The court filing for dismissal also maintained that Solo was defending herself during the altercation when attacked by her much larger nephew, according to KOMO.

Both charges were dropped by a judge Tuesday.
