Kennewick man arrested for domestic assault, unlawful imprisonment
KENNEWICK, Wash. — A Kennewick man is accused of assaulting a woman at an apartment while refusing to let her leave.
Joshua Mentzer, 26, was arrested on charges of unlawful imprisonment – a class C felony – and domestic assault.
Officers responded to the apartment in the 1100 block of West 10th Avenue for a report of an assault in progress. During the 911 call, a dispatcher heard a woman screaming in the background, said Officer Cory McGee.
Several police units arrived at the scene around 8:30 p.m. and located Mentzer outside of the home.
Officers learned that Mentzer and the woman had two verbal disputes earlier that day before things allegedly got physical.
The man and woman have dated, but it is unclear if they were still together at the time, Officer McGee said.
Mentzer was booked at the Benton County Jail on $25,000 bail.
