Kennewick man busted in child sex sting
RICHLAND, Wash. — A Kennewick man was caught in a child sex sting Tuesday evening.
Shayn Tyler Hale, 29, began chatting online with an undercover detective posing as a minor. Over the course of the conversation, Hale said he wanted to have sex with the child, according to the Richland Police Department.
The man showed up to a predetermined location to meet the child. Instead, he was arrested by members of the Southeast Regional Crimes Against Children task force.
The task force is comprised of detectives from the Richland and Kennewick police departments, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Department of Homeland Security.
Hale is being held at the Benton County Jail on $100,000 bail. He’s facing charges of attempted second-degree rape of a child and communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
