KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick Police Department (KPD) said on April 14, 2022, at around 8:54 p.m., officers were dispatched to a single-vehicle rollover collision on West 19th Ave. and South Union St., according to the department’s Facebook page.

KPD reported that a 21-year-old Kennewick resident behind the wheel was impaired while driving and “failed to negotiate the roundabout correctly” while traveling northbound on South Union St.

KPD also said that speed was likely a factor and that the driver hit multiple street signs before rolling over.

Officers said that the investigation “revealed the driver attempted to conceal a firearm prior to police arrival,” according to the KPD Facebook post. KPD said they found the firearm on the driver, who was “not eligible to possess firearms.”

Kennewick Police said they took the 21-year-old man into custody for suspicion of a DUI and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
