Kennewick man turns dream into reality with new restaurant
KENNEWICK, Wash. — A Kennewick man who grew up in restaurant kitchens with his father is now sharing his family recipes with the entire community.
Joel Watson always dreamt of having his own restaurant. Now he’s making his dream a reality with the opening of his own diner called Just Joel’s.
Despite his struggles with addiction and gangs in his 20s, he has been clean and transforming his life ever since.
Watson and his business partner Marcus Hoffman have teamed up to open the dream breakfast and lunch spot that locals can depend on.
“I asked people where the best breakfast spot was in town and they couldn’t’t think of one,” Watson said. “I want to see smiles. Here we don’t count calories, we count smiles. I’m not doing this to be a millionaire I’m doing this because this is my passion. This is what I love. I get to come to work and have fun,” Watson said.
The grand opening of Just Joel’s will be Saturday Nov.18. It will be open each day from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
