Kennewick middle school will have extra police on Oct. 25 due to school threat
KENNEWICK, Wash. — In a handwritten note, someone threatened to “blow up” Highlands Middle School on Oct. 25.
The note was discovered in a school bathroom stall on Thursday. While there is no evidence that the threat is credible, there will be an extra police presence at the school off on the Oct. 25 as a precaution.
The school is located at 4th Avenue and Tweedt Street.
“We want to emphasize how important it is that parents talk with their children about how these threats adversely impact our learning environment, use of school resources and our community,” the school said on its Facebook page.
The school says it takes all threats seriously and investigates each one fully.
