Kennewick police arrest two for spray painting car before crashing


KENNEWICK, Wash. – Police arrested two suspects after they were seen spray painting a car then running from police in Kennewick.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, an officer saw a group in the 100 block of N Fruitland St spray painting graffiti onto a car.

When the officer approached them, the suspects entered a car and fled towards W Albany Ave. The car then crashed into a tree at W Albany Ave and N Ione St.

Two suspects ran from the location and have not been located.

The driver, 20-year-old Laura Mares, was arrested and booked for reckless driving after being cleared for injuries at Trios Hospital.

A 16-year-old juvenile male passenger was arrested for Malicious Mischief and later released to his parents. The car was towed as part of a search warrant.
