Kennewick Public Market sees a steady flow of business

KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick Public Market celebrated its grand opening on June 9, 2022, open for all customers to come and shop, snack and hang out at the Columbia River Warehouse.

“We did pretty good the first two weeks. And if we improve that just is even better,” said Courtney Williams, the owner of Sad Girl Self Care.

A lot of these businesses have seen success at the location.

“The first two weeks were awesome,” Aubrieann Johnson, the owner of Aub’s Bananza Bread said.

The vendors and business owners say they’ve had a steady flow of business since opening.

“We sold out like, first, second, third day. We couldn’t even come in on the fourth day because we had no manpower to bake anymore,” Aubrieann said.

Hours:
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Friday/Saturday: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The market has food, flowers, furniture and so much more, all under one roof. Not only are there vendors inside the building, but there are also a few set up outside, like Gray’s Wings and Things.

“A lot of people come here to, to go and shop inside but the moment that they see food, or some good hot wings, they’ll go ahead and come over and order,” Ronald Gray said, co-owner of Gray’s.

Danielle Gray, co-owner of Gray’s said, “People were excited about a food option, just because inside there’s lots of snacks and whatnot, so you can actually get some food to eat and put in their bellies.”

More vendors have already popped up in the facility since the grand opening. Ice Harbor Brew will be joining the businesses at some point, as well. The brewery will be located upstairs.

This is the market’s third week. They are still looking to grow their businesses.

“They’re actually looking for more vendors to join their team, and hopefully the next phase is going to be a big one before them to open up the other half of the facility,” said Ronald Gray.

They are hoping the coming weeks will be just as successful as the opening weeks.

Aubrieann Johnson said that she wants everyone to come down and check the market out.

“Because once you do, you’re definitely going to want to come back.”
