Kennewick ranks 3rd on national list of best places to trick-or-treat
A recent study ranked Kennewick third on a list of Top 10 Places to Trick-or-Treat in the country.
The Smart Asset study based its findings on seven factors including population density, percent of residents under the age of 15, home values, crime rates, precipitation and temperature.
In a blurb from the website, it said “there is little chance of rain ruining the trick-or-treating in Kennewick.” In a previous year, it said statistically there is only a 0.5 percent chance of rain on Halloween in the city.
The study also said “over 25 percent of residents here are under the age of 15,” meaning there’s a good chance for having a lot of kids trick-or-treating on Halloween.
One concern the list brought up is that Kennewick has the third lowest population density on the top 10 list, which means “you need to cover a lot of ground if you want to get all your favorite candy.”
This is the third year Kennewick has shown up on the list, moving up from the 5th place spot in 2015.
While most of the cities are in the Midwest, the cities that ranked above Kennewick are Nampa, Idaho and Orem, Utah.
