Kennewick student escapes as car catches on fire, traffic impacted
KENNEWICK, Wash. — Kennewick police and firefighters responded to a car fire on Friday morning.
The car set on fire near South Steptoe Street off of Clearwater Avenue just before 8 a.m.
Southbound Steptoe from Clearwater is blocked off as firefighters are at work.
According to Kennewick police, a high school student was on his way to school when the car started smoking. He made it out safely.
The road is expected to be blocked off for about a half hour.
