Ki-Be School District Considering Arming Administrators

Possible Firearms Policy Developing in Benton City Schools

The Kiona-Benton School District is considering arming administrators with concealed weapons. The school board discussed the matter at its meeting earlier this week.

Superintendent Wade Haun tells Your Local ABC teachers would not be armed, just adminstrators if they are trained, and that there is no timeline for the district to make a decision on whether it wants to move ahead with the idea.

If Ki-Be does move ahead, the program would be modeled after a similar program in the Toppsnish School District.
