UPDATE: Kobe Bryant, 13-year-old daughter killed in helicopter crash, TMZ reports

UPDATE (1:00 p.m. Sunday): Representatives of Kobe Bryant told TMZ that Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna Maria Onore was also killed. They were reportedly heading to basketball practice in Thousand Oaks before the helicopter went down.

Kobe Bryant went to a Cashmere High School varsity girls basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 11.

According to ABC News, Bryant, 41, was drafted to the NBA out of high school in 1996 and spent his entire 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, winning five NBA championships. He was awarded NBA MVP in 2008 and NBA Finals MVP in 2009 and 2010.

Bryant won gold medals as a member of the U.S. men’s basketball team in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

CALABASAS, Calif. — TMZ is reporting that Kobe Bryant has died in a helicopter crash in California.

The media outlet said Bryant was with three other people in his private helicopter when it went down. According to the Associated Press, the crash sparked a small brush fire.

TMZ said there are no survivors. The cause is under investigation.
