KPD arrests suspect from armed robbery at Pasco cell phone store

PASCO, Wash. — A robber armed with a knife recently entered a Tri-Cities cell phone store, made vile threats to a female clerk and stole a cell phone. Now 10 days later, local law enforcement has arrested a suspect connected to the crime.

According to a Facebook post by the Kennewick Police Department (KPD), officers located suspect Ramiro Josue Villa, a 30-year-old residing in Kennewick, on April 30, 2021. Local authorities say that the suspect was taken into custody without incident and w turned over to Pasco police officers, who booked him into the Franklin County Jail on investigative holds for harassment and robbery to the first degree.

Villa is accused of entering the ‘Metro by T-Mobile‘ shop at 800 W. Lewis St in Pasco around 5:15 PM on Friday, April 23, 2021. The suspect allegedly entered the business armed with a knife, which he used to threaten store employees. Pasco Police say that the suspect threatened to rape a young female clerk who was working at the front desk at the time of the incident.

Officers confirmed that the suspect fled the scene of the crime on foot with a Kyocera K51 cell phone that he stole from the business. Pasco police deployed K9 Hapo2 in an attempt to locate the suspect in the surrounding area, but weren’t able to find him.

Previously, local police said that they had a suspect in mind. They made contact with his family and confirmed that their initial suspect was homeless and may have been under the influence of narcotics during the robbery. Local law enforcement did not identify whether Villa is the same suspect as the one they suspected at the time of the crime.
