KPHD board votes to appoint interim CEO, superintendent for TRIOS Health
KENNEWICK, Wash. — The Kennewick Public Hospital District Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to grant Craig R. Cudworth additional responsibilities as superintendent and interim chief executive officer for Trios Health. Mr. Cudworth, an employee of Quorum Health Resources, arrived February 1 to serve as chief restructuring officer and lead the organization through a major project to return the organization to financial health.
Quorum, a management consulting firm, was hired in late 2016 by the KPHD Board to conduct a financial, operational, and strategic assessment. After receiving the final report in January, the Commissioners agreed to move forward with Quorum’s recommendations.
Craig R. Cudworth, LFACHE, has worked successfully in transitional, change-management, administrative, and operational capacities for several health systems across the country since 1993. Most recently, he served as acting chief executive officer for Franklin Foundation Hospital in Franklin, Louisiana. He has completed additional assignments on behalf of Quorum for Newberry County Memorial Hospital in Newberry, South Carolina, Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, and Tippah County Health Services in Ripley, Mississippi. He holds a Master’s in Health Care Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia.
Trios Health is the Kennewick Public Hospital District’s system of care serving the greater Tri-Cities. The District operates two hospitals to accommodate the area’s fast-growing population: Trios Women’s and Children’s Hospital at its downtown Kennewick location and Trios Southridge Hospital, a state-of-the-art hospital, which opened July 15, 2014. Trios Medical Group, comprised of nearly 100 employed physicians and providers, serves as the core of a growing medical staff network of 325+ providers throughout the Tri-Cities and includes practices and services at eight Care Centers and three Urgent Care Centers.
