Lawmaker proposes bill to create 32-hour workweek in Washington state

OLYMPIA, Wash. — A Washington state lawmaker is proposing a bill that would reduce the regular workweek to 32 hours.

Sen. Joe Nguyen, D-White Center, introduced SB 6516 on Monday.

Under the bill, any employee who works more than 32 hours would be paid one and one-half times their regular wages.
