Kennewick Historic Waterfront District final draft open for comment

KENNEWICK, Wash. — Ahead of a public review and comment period beginning today, the Port of Kennewick released concept images for a proposed re-design of the city’s Historic Waterfront District. The port’s Board of Commissioners will consider adopting this final master plan at its commission meeting on June 8.

These redevelopment plans are meant to unify Clover Island, Columbia Gardens Wine & Artisan Village, The Willows and Cable Greens as one amenity district. This would direct investments into the region over the course of the next 15-20 years. The basis of the project is to adapt to the city’s growing community and interests by creating new amenities that see through the Port’s goal of creating a mixed-use investment. This was a crucial goal of the Clover Island Master Plan that was passed in 2005.
