Seattle Mariners visit Pasco elementary school for motivational talk

PASCO, Wash.-- A few members of the Seattle Mariners made a stop at Emerson Elementary School Friday afternoon as part of the organization's "Mariner's Caravan" where team members give motivational talks to an assembly of students.

The caravan has made several stops in Eastern Washington and hopes to spread motivation and life lessons to young people in the area.

"For us to be able to get on the road and see the fans, you know everybody travels to see us during the year so its important for us to give back and come out to see people in their hometowns as well," said Marco Gonzales, a pitcher for the Mariners.

The Mariner Moose DREAM Team is comprised of pitcher Marco Gonzales, catcher Mike Marjama, long-time broadcaster Mike Blowers, and the team's mascot, the Mariner Moose.

The team said its principles are being drug free, respecting yourself and others, education through reading, attitude, and motivation to achieve your dreams.
