Local pediatric dentist co-writes a textbook

A local pediatric dentist from Yakima has co-authored a textbook in hopes of helping other dentist.

Dr. Jessica Webb is a pediatric dentist at Children’s Village in Yakima who co-wrote the book “Dental Care for Children with Special Needs: A Clinical Guide.”

Travis Nelson, Chair of Pediatric Dentistry at University of Washington and Dr. Webb spent about a year working on the project.

The book was created to help dentist work better with special needs children.

“Dental care for kids with special needs is one of the greatest unmet needs nationwide and families have the hardest times finding and so our goal with the book is to help facilitate dentist being comfortable caring for kids with special needs,” said Dr. Webb. “Dental care for kids with special needs is one of the greatest unmet needs nationwide and families have the hardest times finding and so our goal with the book is to help facilitate dentist being comfortable caring for kids with special needs.”

The textbook has already been distributed throughout the country.
