Local Yakima X-Gamer Joe Parsons Talks About Upcoming Competition

The state of Washington will be represented by four contestants in the 2015 Winter X-Games, two competitors from Yakima County alone.

Today we spoke with 13-time medal winner Joe Parsons, who has the second most Winter X-Games medals. Only trailing some guy named Shaun White.

He says having a lot of medals just means he’s getting old, but that won’t stop him from wanting to return home with more jewelry.

“I feel good about speed and style, I’ve been pretty consistent in the past. I don’t really know what to expect as far as new competition or anything but I just hope in six days I’m driving back with a medal in my hands that’s pretty much all I care about,” said Parsons

Parsons will be competing on the opening day of the X-Games in Aspen which start this Thursday

Tomorrow we will be talking with a newer competitor in the snowmobile world, Moxee local David Sharp, be sure to watch both athletes. The X-Games run from the January 22nd-25th

That’s Thursday through Sunday.
